Exorcising Rejection // Video 7 minutes 40 seconds // created by Terence Nance // music by RJD2

Synopsis::

Exorcising Rejection is a short autobiographical film that tells the epic story of a momentary experience with rejection - as a means to exorcise the negativity associated with the experience from the creator's psyche.  The "rejection" as such takes place over several weeks - it's not your run of the mill hand in the face - it's more a long, drawn out episode that includes: broken dates, one sided phone tag, several mixed messages, and hinted at but never articulated "feelings."  The moment is articulated on the screen using voice, text, and images; the voice is used strictly to reveal the facts, while the images and sound are used to convey the acute emotions that the narration omits.  The film was created - from concept to final cut - in Cape Town, South Africa in April of 2005.
